“Can you lose friends and your good name in network marketing?” – a question that paralyzes a huge number of people and prevents them from taking action.
YES – you can, but NOT ALWAYS.
What causes some people to actually lose relationships and reputation, while others do the opposite? What is the reason for this? Where do the mistakes lie? And how can you do it professionally, with class, and for the benefit of all?
Key Lesson: The Industry Doesn’t Ruin Relationships
When I started, I was full of emotion. I came home, and my sudden enthusiasm shocked my mother. Her reaction was a natural, parental defensive stance. She thought someone had “brainwashed” me. Today, I know it wasn’t her fault, but my communication error.
It’s not network marketing that destroys relationships, but our unprofessional communication, lack of preparation, and excessive, uncontrolled enthusiasm.
When your loved ones and friends react negatively, they most often do so because they want to protect you – from disappointment, financial risk, an unfamiliar environment. They didn’t feel the same emotions as you. From their perspective, your revolutionary plans sound like pure abstraction.
Unethical Practices That Destroy Trust
There are specific behaviors that are like poison to your reputation:
- Promising easy, quick earnings – Disappointment over a lack of initial results quickly turns into a bad reputation.
- Pressure to purchase expensive starter kits – A new person is left with boxes at home and a feeling of being scammed.
- Mandatory monthly activations – If the system forces huge purchases that then sit unused at home.
- Aggressive recruitment techniques – Calling several times a day, spamming, disrespect for refusal.
All these situations have one thing in common: a lack of ethics. And network marketing can and should be conducted with class.
With Whom Do You Build a Real Business?
In 95% of cases, a real network marketing business is built with people you don’t know yet.
The greatest leaders are individuals who came from outside. They got to know you as a leader, through the lens of your current vision and values. Don’t put pressure on your closest circle. Professionally show them what you do, but focus your energy on seeking new contacts.
